Prof. Dr. SABU THOMAS is currently , the Director, School of Chemical Sciences and Hon. Director,and also the Hon. Director of Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at Mahatma Gandhi University, Priyadarshini Hills P. O. Kottayam, Kerala, India. He did his Ph.D from Indian institute of Technology (IIT),Kharagpur. Prof.Thomas has a h Index of 149 and has published 1500 international papers with 150000 total citations. He has 15 patents and 150 books to his credit. In 2008, Prof Thomas was cited in the list of most productive researchers in India.(5th Position).In 2018 he received the faculty Research award by Careers 360 for the most cited researcher in India in Material Science. He is a visiting professor in several foreign Universities including France, Germany, Belgium, Slovenia,Poland etc.In 2017 Prof.Thomas was awarded the Full bright fellowship Our research group consists of PhD students, Post-doctoral associates, Visiting students and Project students. Charles Ghany, Associate Professor of Physics at Mississippi College (Tenured) Charles Ghany has a PhD degree in Applied Physics from Mississippi State University (MSU, 2016 Graduate). He is also a holder of two Master of Science degrees in Physics from Umea University (Sweden) and Mississippi State University (USA) respectively. His undergraduate degree was also in Physics with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Buea (Cameroon). He has done a lot of research with laser induced breakdown spectroscopy and chemiluminescence based combustion diagnostics. He has worked as an instructor of records, teaching General Physics II and Physics III (Physics courses for undergraduate students) at MSU. He lectured at MSU for some time all the way through summer 1, 2016. After this, he moved in the fall of 2016 to Mississippi College (MC), where he began his career initially, as a visiting Professor of Physics. He is currently an Associate Professor of Physics and tenured at MC.

Prof. Joon Myong Song received Ph.D. in 1997 at Kyushu University in Japan. After Ph.D., he worked as research associate at Brookhaven National Laboratory and Oak Ridge National Laboratory in United States. From 2005, he is professor in College of Pharmacy at Seoul National University in South Korea. His research area is 3D bioprinting-based tissue for evaluation of drug efficacy and toxicity, and transparent tumor imaging. He has published 140 papers in peer reviewed journals, 12 book chapters, and 35 international and domestic patents. He is an associate editor of Nano Convergence. He was president of Korean Biochip Society in 2024. He is director of anticancer immune cell research center at Seoul National University from 2023 to 2030.

Xianguang Yang received his Bachelor’s degree in Optics from Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU) in 2012, and completed his Doctorate in Optical Engineering with the theoretical and experimental combination of nanowire and nanoparticle photonics at the State Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Technologies affiliated with SYSU in 2016 under the guidance of Prof. Baojun Li (Changjiang Scholar). He received National Postgraduate Scholarship in 2016. He became an Assistant Professor of the Institute of Nanophotonics at the Jinan University in 2016 and became an Assistant to the Dean since 2018, then promoted to Associate Professor in 2019. He has mentored 13 MS students and post-docs. His main research interests include photonics, plasmonics, nano-optics, detectors, opto electronics and opt thermal mechanisms, especially for fiber optical waveguide, which were supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Dr. Yang has published 4 Book chapters, and 30 peer-reviewed journal publications, such as Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Nano Letters, ACS Nano, Advanced Optical Materials, Nanophotonics, Nanoscale, ACS Photonics, and etc. He has been an Editorial Board Member of Optics in 2018 and to be a member for RSC Advances Reviewer Panel since 2020. In 2023, he has been appointed as guest editor of Nanomaterials (IF 5.3), managing the Nanostructured Materials for Photonic and Plasmonic Applications. In 2024, he has been elected as Nanoscale Emerging investigator. He is a member of American Chemical Society (ACS), Optical Society of America (OSA), Chinese Optical Society (COS) and Chinese Society for Optical Engineering (CSOE).

Prof. T. S. Chung is a Jade Mountain Chair professor at the Graduate Institute of Applied Science and Technology of NTUST, Taiwan. Before joining NTUST, he was a Provost’s Chair Professor at the ChBE department of NUS in 2011-2021. In 2005-2008, he worked as a Senior Consultant for Hyflux, led and built its membrane research team. He became a Fellow in the Academy of Engineering Singapore in 2012 and received the Underwood Medal from IChemE UK for exceptional research in separations and Singapore President’s Technology Award in 2015. He received Distinction Award in Water Reuse and Conservation from IDA in 2016. He was ranked as No. 6th in Chemical Engineering by “the top 2% scientists in the world” published by Stanford U. in 2022 and 2023. His H-index = H-index = 131 (Scopus) or 153 (Google Scholar) (My 26, 2024).

Kenji Uchino, one of the pioneers in piezoelectric actuators, is Academy Professor at Emeritus Academy Institute, Founding Director of International Center for Actuators and Transducers, Materials Research Institute, and was Professor of EE and MatSE, Distinguished Honors Faculty of Schreyer Honors College at The Pennsylvania State University. He was Associate Director (Global Technology Awareness, the US Navy Ambassador to Japan) at The US Office of Naval Research – Global Tokyo Office from 2010 till 2014. He was also the Founder and Senior Vice President & CTO of Micromechatronics Inc., State College, PA from 2004 till 2010. After being awarded his Ph. D. degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, he became Research Associate/Assistant Professor (1976) in Physical Electronics Department at this university. Then, he joined Sophia University, Japan as Associate Professor in Physics Department in 1985. He was then recruited from The Penn State University in 1991. He was also involved with Space Shuttle Utilizing Committee in NASDA, Japan during 1986-88, and Vice President of NF Electronic Instruments, USA, during 1992-94. He was the Founding Chair of Smart Actuators/Sensors Committee, Japan Technology Transfer Association sponsored by Ministry of Economics, Trading and Industries, Japan from 1987 to 2014, and is a long-term Chair of International Conference on New Actuators, Messe Bremen, Germany since 1997. He is currently Editor in Chief of J. Actuators, MDPI and J. Insight-Material Science, PiscoMed Publishing LLT. Uchino served as Administrative Committee Member (Elected) of IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control (1998-2000) and as Secretary of American Ceramic Society, Electronics Division (2002-2003). His research interest is in solid state physics, especially in ferroelectrics and piezoelectrics, including basic research on theory, materials, device designing and fabrication processes, as well as application development of solid state actuators/sensors for precision positioners, micro-robotics, ultrasonic motors, smart structures, piezoelectric transformers and energy harvesting. K. Uchino is known as the discoverer/inventor of the following famous topics: (1) lead magnesium niobate (PMN)-based electrostricive materials, (2) cofired multilayer piezoelectric actuators (MLA), (3) superior piezoelectricity in relaxor-lead titanate-based piezoelectric single crystals (PZN-PT), (4) photostrictive phenomenon, (5) shape memory ceramics, (6) magnetoelectric composite sensors, (7) transient response control scheme of piezoelectric actuators (Pulse-Drive technique), (8) micro ultrasonic motors, (9) multilayer disk piezoelectric transformers, and (10) piezoelectric loss characterization methodology. Total citation number 36,000 and annual average citation number 1,500 are very high in College of Engineering.

Oscar K.S. Hui, a reader in energy storage and conversion at the School of Engineering, UEA, has made significant contributions in his field. He completed his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), a prestigious institution ranked #58 in THE world ranking 2023. Prior to the current position, he was a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at the University of East Anglia, UK (2016-2019), Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea (2013-2016), and Lecturer in Systems Engineering and Engineering Management at City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong (2008-2013). He has 30 years’ experience in transfusion medicine, most of the time as expert in clinical transfusion but with very good experience in therapeutic apheresis and donor apheresis, as well as, blood component therapy. From few years ago introduced irradiation of blood components in Serbia, in Novi Sad, and most of the blood components that are irradiated are for oncology, hematology, in adults and children. He is more than 15 years dealing with Siberian natural products, some Chinese, one African and one South American. All are extremely effective and helpful. This is his experience in all this together.

Emiliano Schena (BSc, MSc, and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering) is currently a Full Professor at the Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma (UCBM), where he is the UCBM Rector’s delegate for the Research Valorization and Lifelong learning, and Course Director of the Biomedical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Course. His research interests include design, development, and assessment of fiber optic sensors for applications in minimally invasive surgery and in wearable systems for monitoring physiological parameters, posture, and rehabilitation processes. He is co-founder of the spin-off HEREMOS (https://www.heremos.com). He is involved as coordinator/Principal investigator in many research projects. He is the author of 300+ papers in international journals, conferences, and books. He is serving on the editorial board of several journals, among others, IEEE Sensors Journal and Sensors MDPI.

Paulo C. DE MORAIS, PhD, was full Professor of Physics at the University of Brasilia (UnB) – Brazil up to 2013, Appointed as UnB’s Emeritus Professor (2014), Appointed as Guest Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology – China (2011), Visiting Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) – China (2012-2015), Appointed as Distinguished Professor at Anhui University (AHU) – China (2016-2019), Appointed as Full Professor at Catholic University of Brasília (UCB) – Brazil (2018), Appointed as CNPq-1A Research Fellowship since 2010. 2007 Master Research Prize from UnB, 2008-member of the European ERA NET Nanoscience Committee, Member of the IEEE-Magnetic Society Technical Committee, Senior Member of the IEEE Society, 2012 China’s 1000 Foreign Expert Recipient, and 2012 Academic Excellence Award from Brazilian Professor’s Union. He held two-years (1987-1988) post-doc position with Bell Communications Research – New Jersey, USA and received his Doctoral degree in Solid State Physics (1986) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais – Brazil. He graduated in both Chemistry (1976) and Physics (1977) at UnB. Professor Morais is member of the Brazilian Physical Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers – IEEE. He has served as referee for more than 50 technical journals, takes part of the Editorial Board of more than 15 technical journals and has conducted research on nanomaterials for over 40 years. He has delivered 170 Invited Talks all over the World. He is known for his research in preparation, characterization and applications of nanosized materials (magnetic fluid, magnetoliposome, magnetic nanoemulsion, magnetic nanocapsule, magnetic nanofilm, magnetic nanocomposite, nanosized semiconductors, polymeric dots, carbon dots, and graphene quantum dots). With about 500 published papers in peer reviewed journals, more than 12,500 citations and 16 patents, he has appeared in recent World ranking of top scientists, such as 2020-Stanford, 2022-Research.com, 2023-AD Scientific Index, and 2023-Research.com.

Dr. Ebad Bagherpour is a Lecturer at BCAST, Brunel University. His robust academic and industry trajectory includes roles such as a CircularMetal Research Associate, Level-UP Research Fellow, and RACEForm Research Fellow at BCAST. He has also served as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Doshisha University in Japan, a Lecturer at Shiraz University, and R&D Manager at Shiraz Kahroba Industrial Co. With over 15 years of experience in metallurgy and materials science, Dr. Bagherpour specializes in mechanical characterization of materials, microstructure-properties relationships, cyclic response of metals, forming technologies, severe plastic deformation, dislocation theory, and deformation mechanisms. He actively contributes to the editorial boards of several journals, reviews manuscripts across numerous Elsevier, Springer, and MDPI journals, and holds editorial roles at "Cambridge Scholar Publication," "Modern Materials Science and Technology," and "Engineering and Solid Mechanics." Additionally, he serves on the Elsevier Advisory Panel and is a guest editor and Topical Advisory Panel Member for the MDPI Journal Crystals."

Zafar Said is currently working as an Associate Professor with the Department of Sustainable Renewable Energy Engineering, University of Sharjah. He also serves as the coordinator of the Functional Nanomaterials Synthesis Lab. Dr. Zafar completed his Ph.D. from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. He graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (Hons.) from University Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the iSmart group in the Department of Engineering Systems and Management, Masdar Institute, U.A.E. He also worked on confidential industrial collaborative projects with Masdar Institute. He works in the fields of renewable energy, energy and exergy analysis, solar energy (solar collectors, energy efficiency, efficiency improvement), heat transfer (heat transfer, cooling, and heating), and nanofluids (thermophysical properties, optical properties, application of nanofluids). His research achievements include 100 research papers, 2 books/book chapters, 18 conference papers, about 2945 citations and an H-index of 31. He secured more than 2 million AED in research grants. He has been honored with several prestigious awards, including Sharjah Islamic Bank Award for Distinguished Researchers (2017-2018) and Faculty Annual Incentive Research Award for 2018-2019. Dr. Zafar is also serving as the Editorial Board Member for several ISI Journals. He is a reviewer in more than 20 Journals, with a total of 280 reviews.

Mr. Walker is a Nuclear Physicist and was the project lead and manager for constructing the new Rolls-Royce Nuclear Chemical Plant; he was the UK Subject Matter Expert for the UK Nuclear Material Recovery Capabilities and was the technical project manager for constructing the UK reactor core manufacturing facilities. Mr. Walker was also seconded to Rolls Royce where he modeled configurations of RR’s Zero-Power reactor to inform confidence limits for the UK’s successor submarine’s mechanical design and worked for the Rolls-Royce Nuclear Thermal Hydraulics Engineering team investigating reactor channel thermal performance to inform new reactor designs and support the safety case for reactors in current class submarines. Mr. Walker’s professional engineering experience includes nuclear reactors, mines, submarines, chemical plants, factories, mine processing facilities, infrastructure, automotive machinery, and testing rigs. Mr. Walker has extensive experience in engineering and project management, particularly within nuclear engineering, mining engineering, mechanical engineering, construction, manufacturing, engineering design, infrastructure, and safety management. He has executive experience in several public companies, as well as acquiring and re-developing the only fluorspar mine in the United States. Mr. Walker holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, and Nuclear Engineering, as well as qualifications in Project Management and Accountancy. He is a Chartered Engineer with the IMechE, a Chartered Physicist with the IoP, a Project Manager Professional with the APM, and a Professional Engineer with the Engineers and Geoscientists BC.

Dr. Angelo Karunaratne, a distinguished figure in the realms of biomedical engineering and wearable technology, has cultivated a versatile career that spans rigorous academic research, dynamic industry leadership, and enterprising ventures. His profound expertise is underpinned by a rich educational foundation with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and Biomaterial Sciences from Queen Mary, University of London, and further complemented by professional qualifications including Chartered Engineer status from the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, UK. In academia, Dr. Karunaratne has served as a senior lecturer and visiting consultant at prestigious institutions such as the University of Moratuwa and Imperial College London. Jeong Joon Yoo, M.D., Ph.D. is a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Seoul National University College of Medicine and Seoul National University Hospital. He holds both a master's and Ph.D. in Orthopedic Science from Seoul National University. His research focuses on musculoskeletal tissue engineering, stem cell biology, and bone cell biology. He has a keen interest in hip and pelvis reconstructive surgery, as well as clinical applications of stem cell therapies. Dr. Yoo’s contributions include multiple publications and research projects related to tissue engineering and biomechanics. His work is widely recognized, earning numerous awards, including from the Korean Hip Society.

Dr. Kyyoul Yun is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Gifu University, specializing in soft magnetic materials, magnetic property measurements, and dissimilar metal joining. He holds a Ph.D. in Energy Science from Kyoto University and a Master’s in Metallurgical Engineering from Kyungpook National University, South Korea. His professional career includes roles as a researcher at the Toyota Technological Institute and Shinshu University. His main research focuses on high-efficiency core development, the analysis of magnetic properties under inverter excitation, and the creation of high-strength, lightweight materials using dissimilar metal combinations such as iron-aluminum and titanium-aluminum.

Maria Josè Lo Faro graduated in Physics of Condensed Matter cum laude at the University of Catania in 2013. She consolidated her experience in the field of nanostructures for integrated silicon photonics during her Ph.D. at the University of Catania. She was a visiting researcher at the Kastler-Brossel Lab (ENS-Paris), where she investigated light propagation in random media by wavefront shaping in S. Gigan’s group. In 2017, she was a Postdoc at the Institute for Chemical and Physical Processes (IPCF- CNR) in Messina working in the field of optical nanostructured biosensors, and in 2018 she moved to the Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems (IMM-CNR) in Catania, where she investigated the use of Si nanostructures for lasing. Since November 2018, she has been a research fellow at the Physics Dept. at UNICT, where she is currently working as a tenure track researcher (RTD B) on synthesizing and characterizing functional luminescent materials.

Dr. Claudia Bertei received her Ph.D. in Materials Science from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), following a BSc in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Bologna and an MSc in Polymer Science and Nanotechnology from QMUL. During her Ph.D., Dr. Bertei focused on ion-responsive polymer brushes for smart coating applications and non-aqueous carbomer nanogels for consumer healthcare products. She has collaborated with prominent companies like GSK and leading international institutions such as Politecnico di Milano and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). Currently, she is a Materials Scientist at Biophilica, a London-based start-up in the sustainability sector, where she leads research on bio-based leather alternatives and eco-friendly coatings.

Danish Manzoor is currently a Research Assistant at the Biodiscovery Institute at the University of Nottingham, where he focuses on the genetic engineering of anaerobic bacteria to produce valuable commodities. He holds a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Nottingham Trent University. With a strong background in biotechnological research, Danish is dedicated to advancing the field through innovative approaches in microbial engineering.
